Particle-laden flows are present in a wide range of applications from spray injections to jet engines.
The simulation of these flows is highly challenging due to the interaction of the particles with the surrounding multiscale flow.
So far, the behavior of particles is mostly investigated for incompressible flow, whereas only few publications concentrate on the compressible regime.
In this work, we want to close this gap by investigating the particle behavior in highly compressible flow.
For this, the Euler-Lagrange approach is employed, considering the full fluid-particle coupling and inter-particle collisions.
To summarize, the aim of this thesis is to run various hypersonic test problems with particles and thoroughly evaluate the particle behavior.
